As a Software Engineer specializing in cloud resource management, you will be instrumental in enhancing and maintaining the capacity and quota management frameworks within Apple's cloud environment.
Your contributions will directly influence the efficiency of cloud resource management, yield substantial cost reductions for Apple, and facilitate rapid access to cloud resources for teams launching new products and features.
You will collaborate across various functions, including finance, product, and platform teams, to ensure the stability and performance of existing systems while also laying the groundwork for new functionalities.
Job Description:
The Apple Services Engineering team is in search of a skilled, self-driven development engineer with a profound understanding of cloud resource management.
In this capacity, you will perform code evaluations, pinpoint areas for enhancement, and apply best practices to guarantee code quality and maintainability. You will also engage in troubleshooting and resolving issues associated with quota management systems in live environments.
This position will primarily concentrate on establishing robust quota enforcement strategies to facilitate efficient and straightforward resource allocation across Apple's infrastructure.
Your responsibilities will also involve close collaboration with engineering managers, partners, and stakeholders to comprehend requirements and convert them into technical specifications.
The ideal candidate should possess a strong willingness to learn new technologies and the capability to lead complex and demanding projects. Thriving under pressure is essential for success in this role. Experience in cross-functional collaboration, mentoring, and project leadership is highly valued.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline – or equivalent experience.
7 years of backend development expertise.
Proficient programming skills in languages such as Golang and Java.
Preferred Qualifications:
Expertise in database design and management (SQL and NoSQL).
Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is advantageous.
Knowledge of networking and distributed systems principles.
Exceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities with meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality code.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work autonomously and within a team environment.
Compensation & Benefits:
At Apple, base pay constitutes one aspect of our comprehensive compensation package and is determined within a specified range.
The base pay range for this position is between $175,800 and $312,200, with your base pay contingent upon your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become shareholders through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.Employees may be eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if they voluntarily participate in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
