Job Summary

We are seeking a litigation attorney to join our commercial construction litigation practice group in our Charlotte, NC office. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years' litigation experience in the areas of construction litigation, representing owners, general contractors, suppliers, and/or sureties in contract disputes, delay claims, scope of work disputes, and mechanic's liens.

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent clients in construction litigation matters, including contract disputes, delay claims, and scope of work disputes
  • Conduct research and analysis to support litigation efforts
  • Develop and implement litigation strategies to achieve client goals
  • Prepare and present cases in court, including depositions and trials
  • Manage and prioritize multiple projects and deadlines
  • Collaborate with colleagues to achieve team goals

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor degree from an ABA accredited law school
  • Valid North Carolina bar license
  • 3+ years' construction litigation law practice experience
  • Strong technological skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and practice management systems
  • Superior research skills, including the use of online services, databases, and the Internet
  • Superior organizational skills
  • Project management skills, including a strong aptitude for managing and prioritizing multiple projects and deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work independently and maintain a high degree of confidentiality
