Position Summary:

The AV Solutions Architect will deliver sales support, consultation, conceptualization, and technical design assistance to the account management and acquisition teams. This role encompasses creative concept development, engineering guidance, and the formulation of technical proposals, including cost assessments, suggested hardware, and comprehensive technical narratives. The architect will create precise technical and equipment budgets aligned with company standards to fulfill project specifications, respond promptly to bid requests, and bolster sales initiatives aimed at securing contracts that enhance the company's profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Offer technical and solution-oriented consultation, expertise, and support to account management and acquisition teams.
  • Oversee proposal documentation and engage in final sales presentations.
  • Demonstrate thought leadership by proactively preparing and presenting solution packages to account management and acquisition teams to drive revenue growth.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on solution technologies (such as video walls, control systems, projection mapping, and immersive experiences) to assist Mood in marketing these complex solutions.
  • Generate technical proposals, cost estimates, and supporting documentation in response to detailed RFPs, ensuring accuracy and adherence to the requested format.
  • Conduct thorough engineering evaluations of RFPs, identifying discrepancies, design flaws, and unusual scopes. Develop and submit detailed Requests for Information (RFIs) to clarify and resolve issues, minimizing risks.
  • Assist in compiling all pricing elements, including labor analysis, equipment costs, general conditions, direct job expenses, and any other necessary cost components for formal proposals.
  • Participate in pre-bid and post-bid meetings to represent the company, gain a comprehensive understanding of the RFP, and assure stakeholders of our capability to execute the work.
  • Collaborate with Owners, Architects/Engineers, and other contractors or subcontractors to provide bid and scope clarifications, design assistance, value engineering studies, and project schedule assessments.
  • Upon contract award, attend kickoff meetings with the Operations project team, providing detailed technical and financial insights to ensure a thorough understanding of the project contract, scope, technical requirements, budget, and timeline.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with clients, vendors, representatives, and manufacturers at the highest levels to enhance Mood Media ASG's strategic positioning.
  • Work collaboratively with all members of the Mood family to address challenges collectively.
  • Effectively organize and prioritize projects and daily tasks.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Travel Requirements:

Overnight travel may be required, estimated at 10-25% of the time.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree from a two-year college or technical school, or equivalent experience.
  • Equivalent Experience: A minimum of 10 years in AV Engineering and Systems Design, creative design, diverse technologies, decision-making interactions, and sales and operations processes. Preferred: formal education in Electrical Engineering, Audio Video Engineering, Communications, Digital Signal Processing, or related fields.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Direct field experience in designing, engineering, and managing the installation of complex audio, video, projection, and control systems.
  • Formal education in Electrical Engineering, Audio Video Engineering, Communications, Digital Signal Processing, or related fields.
  • Advanced writing skills, including technical writing, project-specific salesmanship, and the ability to generate detailed clarifications and exclusions to define scope boundaries with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in business applications, particularly Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), along with strong mathematical and budgeting skills.
  • Exceptional organizational capabilities.
  • Self-motivated, well-organized, and able to maintain composure under pressure, ensuring high-quality workmanship.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to providing accurate pricing and scope definitions.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks and challenges efficiently, ensuring completion of each task.
  • Capable of understanding and adapting to customer expectations.
