Reporting Structure:
Reports to the Center Director
Key Responsibilities:
Curriculum Development and Execution:
- Design and implement both short-term and long-term educational activities that align with developmental milestones and the center's educational philosophy.
- Create and deliver daily lesson plans that enhance the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth of every child.
- Collaborate with assistant educators in the planning process to ensure a cohesive learning experience.
Child Development Monitoring:
- Address the emotional, social, physical, and cognitive needs of each child.
- Conduct biannual evaluations of children's developmental progress.
- Communicate children's growth to parents through biannual reports and conferences.
Classroom Oversight:
- Establish and maintain a classroom environment that reflects the center's goals and educational philosophy.
- Ensure a safe and healthy space for all children.
- Supervise and engage children during both indoor and outdoor activities.
- Keep the classroom organized, clean, and well-stocked with necessary materials.
Parent and Staff Communication:
- Maintain open lines of communication with parents regarding their child's development and any concerns.
- Document incidents accurately and inform parents as necessary.
- Safeguard the confidentiality of children, families, and staff information.
Staff Supervision and Development:
- Oversee assistant educators, providing mentorship and support.
- Encourage professional growth and teamwork among staff members.
- Participate actively in training sessions and staff meetings.
Regulatory Compliance and Documentation:
- Ensure adherence to all relevant licensing regulations and program standards.
- Maintain accurate records, including attendance and developmental assessments.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Prepare nutritious meals and snacks for children as needed.
- Assist with diaper changes and toilet training for younger children.
- Inspect and replace any damaged or missing materials.
- Report any suspected abuse or neglect to the supervisor immediately.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma with experience in childcare or human services.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a childcare setting (preferred).
Post-Hiring Requirements:
- CPR and First Aid Certification.
- Clearance for physical and TB tests.
- Criminal background check, fingerprinting, and child abuse clearances.
Job Type:
Full-time
Compensation:
Starting at $16.00 per hour for Assistant Group Supervisors; starting at $18.00 for Group Supervisors, with compensation based on experience and education.
