Job Summary

AKS Engineering & Forestry is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Landscape Architect to join our team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will work closely with project managers, land use planners, civil engineers, and other design professionals to deliver high-quality landscape architecture projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with clients, jurisdictions, and stakeholders to establish project goals and objectives.
  • Develop and implement landscape design concepts that meet client needs and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and present design proposals, budgets, and schedules to clients and stakeholders.
  • Lead or participate in public outreach efforts to engage with local residents and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with junior staff to mentor and develop their skills.
  • Monitor and check work on-site, review submittals, and prepare project closeout tasks.
  • Project management, including reviewing billing, establishing schedules, and overseeing project progress.
Requirements
  • Baccalaureate degree in landscape architecture from an accredited program.
  • Minimum 5 years' related work experience, 7+ years desirable.
  • Professional licensure as a Landscape Architect in Oregon or Washington State, or ability to obtain reciprocity within a reasonable time.
  • Skilled in AutoCAD, Adobe PhotoShop, Bluebeam, and similar landscape architecture and design software.
  • Knowledge of landscape design and construction principles, methods, and techniques, as well as familiarity with local jurisdictional requirements.
  • Knowledge of construction project budgeting and cost estimating principles.
  • Knowledge of plants found in the Pacific Northwest.
  • Irrigation design experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and schedule work assignments to meet deadlines.
