Job Summary

This position requires a thorough understanding of behavioral healthcare theories, interventions, and evaluation techniques. As a member of an interdisciplinary treatment team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing mental health interventions for a caseload of mentally ill criminal offenders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement mental health interventions, including psychological and social interventions, for a caseload of mentally ill criminal offenders.
  • Develop specialized treatment plans and programs, and intervention methods used by treatment teams to treat patients.
  • Supervise, evaluate, and train social workers and/or counselors.
  • Assign caseloads and oversee treatment activities of mental health social workers and/or counselors.
  • Complete mental health risk assessments, including suicide watch assessments, within your scope of practice and for Non-Independently Licensed Mental Health Professionals directed by and in consultation with an Independently Licensed Mental Health Professional.
  • Provide social psychological services to patients, including advanced practice individual and group therapy, diagnostic evaluations, psychosocial assessments, and suicide prevention interventions.
  • Document evaluations, assessments, and interventions in the Electronic Health Care Record.
  • Participate in and/or be responsible for the mental health services quality assurance program.
  • Initiate and maintain contact with families and community agencies.
  • Provide and seek information relative to patient care and treatment.
  • Make appropriate community referrals, per mental health treatment team.
  • Participate in personnel management tasks, including recruitment, interview, and recommendations for hiring.
  • Comply with all facility and DRC rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain necessary data documents required by DRC.
  • Establish and maintain a working relationship with other facilities and agencies.
  • Conduct in-service training.
  • Participate in continuing education programs.
  • Attend conferences, workshops, and meetings as directed.

Qualifications

Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) by Ohio Counselor, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy Board. -Or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) by Ohio Counselor, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy Board.
