Job Overview

Star Tribune is actively looking for a dedicated full-time janitorial specialist to perform a variety of general housekeeping and industrial cleaning tasks at our production facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform general cleaning duties including dusting, washing, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, and restroom sanitation.
  • Utilize floor machines for cleaning, waxing, and buffing surfaces.
  • Conduct outdoor maintenance tasks such as lawn care and snow removal.
  • Manage waste disposal, recycling, and compacting operations.
  • Execute machine cleaning as assigned.
  • Assist in moving and rearranging furniture as necessary.

Qualifications

Applicants should possess previous custodial experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment. A high school diploma is preferred. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to read and adhere to safety signage and procedures, as well as possess knowledge of safety and environmental regulations related to cleaning agents.

Exceptional customer service skills are essential, along with the ability to follow directions effectively. The role requires physical capabilities including climbing stairs and ladders, and regularly lifting up to 50 lbs. Proficiency in operating motorized dollies, floor cleaning equipment, lawnmowers, and snow removal tools is necessary. Frequent bending, kneeling, and squatting will be required.

Schedule: Full-time position, consisting of 7 hours per day with a total of 35 hours per week. Shifts and start times may vary.

Compensation: This is a union position with a starting wage of $17.08/hr.

All employment offers are contingent upon the successful completion of a pre-placement drug screening, employment verification, and a criminal background check.
