Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Golf Professional to join our team at JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Spa. As a Golf Professional, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our guests, promoting and selling golf shop merchandise, and maintaining the overall quality of our golf operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to guest requests for special arrangements or services by making arrangements or identifying appropriate providers.
  • Answer golfer questions about the course and provide expert advice on golf-related matters.
  • Promote and sell golf shop merchandise to customers, ensuring that all merchandise is neatly arranged and restocked to proper levels.
  • Open and close the golf shop daily, collecting all golf-related fees from registered golfers and counting, preparing, and depositing cash.
  • Run closing reports off the registers and schedule tee times for golfers, communicating with the starter, golf services, and golf grounds regarding any changes to the tee sheet.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of golf-related areas, including the golf shop, hallways, locker rooms, and common areas.
  • Total the tee sheet and ensure accuracy of daily totals.
  • Teach individual and group golf lessons in keeping with PGA/LPGA and Marriott standards.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures, reporting accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to management.
  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipating and addressing their service needs.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
  • At least 2 years of related work experience.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 10 pounds without assistance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Supervisory experience.
