Compensation
The salary range for this position is $112,800 - $124,596. This range serves as a general guideline and may vary based on various factors including education and experience.
Position Summary
We are seeking multiple Postdoctoral Researchers to become integral members of our interdisciplinary team focused on Computational Bioengineering. The successful candidates will engage in pioneering research aimed at developing advanced machine learning-driven computational frameworks for protein design and enhancing protein-protein interactions within the Center for Predictive Bioresilience (CPB).
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with project scientists and engineers to evaluate and implement computational frameworks tailored for protein design tasks.
- Contribute to the formulation of analytical methodologies, perform data analysis, and document research findings through presentations and peer-reviewed publications.
- Assist in the development of new capabilities and resolve technical challenges.
- Ensure quality standards for project deliverables and document methodologies.
- Publish research outcomes in reputable scientific journals and present findings at relevant conferences and seminars.
- Travel as necessary to coordinate research efforts with collaborators.
- Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- PhD in Machine Learning, Computational Biology, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
- Proficient in developing and applying algorithms in areas such as protein structure machine learning, deep learning, and unsupervised feature learning.
- Experience in implementing deep learning models using modern software libraries like PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- Familiarity with protein structures and bioinformatics sufficient for effective communication within a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with scientists, engineers, and project managers.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective teamwork and technical presentations.
- Willingness to travel as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DOE Q-level security clearance, requiring U.S. Citizenship.
- In-depth understanding of protein structure bioinformatics and prediction methodologies.
- Experience with high-performance computing and parallel programming techniques.
Additional Information
This position is a Postdoctoral appointment with the potential for extension up to three years for candidates who have recently completed their PhD.
