Position Overview:
The Software Quality Assurance Engineer II will report to the Quality Assurance (QA) Manager within the Information Technology (IT) Quality Management department. This role is pivotal in ensuring the quality, functionality, reliability, and usability of software products in the healthcare sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review business requirements and system documentation to create precise and effective test artifacts, including test plans, test cases, and automated scripts.
- Utilize appropriate testing techniques to ensure comprehensive coverage and timely execution of tests.
- Engage with development teams to promote early defect prevention throughout the project lifecycle.
- Participate in various reviews, including test case reviews, user stories, and risk assessments.
- Execute both manual and automated tests to validate software performance and report findings.
- Document defects and quality concerns using test management systems in accordance with established guidelines.
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of a Continuous Testing Framework.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems (or equivalent experience).
- Master's Degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems is preferred.
Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years in a Software Quality Assurance Engineer role, focusing on both functional and non-functional testing.
- Experience in developing test strategies and writing test plans and cases.
- Proficiency in creating automated scripts following industry best practices.
- Experience in executing manual and automated tests to identify and report defects.
Skills:
- Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle, Agile, and Waterfall methodologies.
- Familiarity with healthcare domains, including Member and Provider portals, and Claims processing.
- Proficient in backend testing using SQL and test automation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience with healthcare systems such as QNXT and Facets.
- Knowledge of EDI transactions and performance, security, and mobile testing.
- Understanding of programming concepts in languages such as Python, Java, and JavaScript.
Certifications:
- International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB) Certification is preferred.
