Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Computed Tomography Technologist to join our team at Mercy Health. As a CT Technologist, you will be responsible for performing computed tomography procedures and related techniques to produce diagnostic images for physician interpretation.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the department coordinator in providing clinical leadership and completing projects.
  • Perform diagnostic CT procedures and ensure accurate documentation of patient information.
  • Corroborate patient clinical history with procedure and prepare patients for procedures.
  • Select and operate imaging equipment, image capture devices, and accessories to successfully perform procedures.
  • Position patients to best demonstrate anatomic areas of interest and respect patient ability and comfort.
  • Practice aseptic technique as necessary and prepare and administer contrast media as appropriate to procedures performed.
  • Initiate basic life support action when necessary and provide patient education.
  • Provide input for supply and equipment decisions and maintain control of inventory and supplies for assigned area.
  • Provide practical instruction for students and partners and observe universal protocol, standard precautions, and appropriate patient identifiers.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited radiography program.
  • Radiographer experience preferred if assigned to perform radiographer duties.
  • Three years experience as a CT technologist required.
  • ARRT Radiography registration required.
  • ARRT Computed Tomography registration required.
  • IEMA-DNS radiography accreditation required if working in Illinois.
  • WI-DSPS radiographer license required if working in Wisconsin.
  • Approved CPR or BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.
Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Mathematical skills to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
  • Reasoning ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Work Environment

The employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and taste or smell. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and or move up to 100 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
