About the Position- Teach courses in Life Sciences, with a focus on Microbiology, and develop curriculum to meet the needs of our diverse student population.
- Implement effective teaching strategies to engage students in critical thinking and problem-solving, and analyze data to improve instruction.
- Provide resources and support to help students achieve their academic, personal, and career goals, and create an effective learning environment that fosters students' intellectual curiosity.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement academic programs, and participate in departmental and college-wide initiatives.
- Stay current with developments in the field of Life Sciences, and apply this knowledge to enhance teaching and learning.
- Minimum of 2 years' work experience in an academic setting, preferably in a community college environment.
- Master's degree or higher in the Life Sciences field, with a strong preference for those with a degree or graduate coursework in Microbiology from a regionally accredited college or university.
- Knowledge of Learning Management Systems, such as Brightspace, and experience with online teaching and/or teaching certification is highly desirable.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of staff and students.
