At Marriott International, we're seeking a seasoned Mechanical Operations Director to join our team. This key role is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, improvement, and repair of all mechanical equipment and electrical controls across our properties.

About the Job

We offer a competitive salary range of $83,000 to $106,000 annually, plus a bonus program, comprehensive health care benefits, 401(k) plan with up to 5% company match, employee stock purchase plan at 15% discount, accrued paid time off (including sick leave where applicable), life insurance, group disability insurance, travel discounts, adoption assistance, paid parental leave, health savings account (except for positions based out of or performed in Hawaii), flexible spending accounts, tuition assistance, pre-tax commuter benefits, other life and work wellness benefits, and may include other incentives such as stock awards and deferred compensation plans.

This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering; 3 years' experience in mechanical facilities maintenance, operations management, or related professional area. Alternatively, a 2-year graduate degree in Engineering; 2 years' experience in mechanical facilities maintenance, operations management, or related professional area will also be considered.

Key Responsibilities
  • Managing Mechanical Operations
    • Maximize utility savings by managing cogeneration, energy management, and mechanical systems.
    • Assist with departmental budget administration.
    • Monitor work orders and preventative maintenance to ensure proper completion and reporting.
    • Perform routine inspections to ensure adherence to preventative maintenance programs.
  • Leading Electrical Engineering Team
    • Monitor the performance of Mechanical Engineering staff.
    • Prepare weekly employee schedules and project schedules.
    • Develop and implement training for Mechanical Engineering staff.
    • Verify that staff members can properly operate area-related systems.
    • Ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations, Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), and safety precautions.
  • Managing and Conducting Human Resources Activities
    • Interview, select, and train employees.
    • Appraise employee productivity and efficiency for promotion or status changes.
    • Provide safety and security for employees or property.
    • Monitor employee attendance and record absences/tardiness.
    • Help direct supervisors achieve their development goals.
    • Conduct annual performance appraisals with direct reports according to Standard Operating Procedures.
