About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Fire Suppression Engineer to join our team at UL Solutions. As a key member of our Built Environment team, you will play a critical role in supporting our customers globally throughout the entire life cycle of their products and buildings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Determine project scope, develop preliminary plans, and specify project requirements by analyzing client input, available data, and product construction.
  • Initiate communication with clients to promote and explain the benefits of new and existing services.
  • Follow up on client contacts and communicate technical issues, UL procedures, and project costs.
  • Provide technical assistance to clients regarding product inspection and follow-up services.
  • Establish test programs by reviewing files, manufacturer's information, and applying UL requirements.
  • Examine samples for compliance with UL requirements and notify clients of any non-compliance or changes in project scope.
  • Coordinate laboratory activities, prepare data sheets, and schedule work for laboratory technicians and engineering support staff.
  • Coordinate administrative aspects of project management and serve as Project Handler of record.
  • Communicate project status and results to clients through frequent contact and reports.
Requirements
  • University degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Physics from an accredited program.
  • Two years of directly related experience.
  • Detailed knowledge of technical vocabulary common to the discipline.
  • Basic knowledge of laboratory testing apparatus and techniques.
