If yes, bring your talent and skills to F.E. Moran We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced HVAC Estimator in our newly renovated Northbrook, IL Office. As an Estimator, you provide accurate and reliable cost estimates that enable the Sales Team to submit competitive bids while ensuring profitability and meeting project requirements.


You Are:


  • KNOWLEDGEABLE: Bachelor’s degree in construction management, mechanical engineering, or relevant field or equivalent experience; demonstrated industry knowledge and in-depth knowledge of estimating
  • EXPERIENCED: Previous experience in HVAC (Sheet metal, Plumbing, Pipe)
  • ANALYTICAL: Critical thinker with strong attention to detail; ability to understand and translate plans and designs to varied levels of audiences
  • ADAPTABLE: Quickly adjust to a changing environment and handle multiple priorities under time constraints


What You’ll Do:


  • ESTIMATE: Plan and prepare accurate and timely estimates; complete data management requirements; and evaluate and determine labor, material, and time requirements to compute the overall cost of the project
  • CRUNCH THE NUMBERS: Compute cost factors and prepare estimates used for management purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work, preparing bids, selecting vendors or subcontractors, and determining cost effectiveness
  • BE PRECISE: Provide improvement recommendations to cost estimating procedures to reduce future variances between estimated and actual costs
  • COLLABORATE: Work closely with Sales Executives to ensure bids are competitive and in alignment with customer needs and expectations
  • PRIORITIZE: Ensure deadlines are met utilizing time management skills
