Job Summary

General Excavating, a leading contractor in Nebraska and South Dakota, is seeking a skilled Crane Operator to join our team. As a Crane Operator, you will be responsible for safely operating lattice boom cranes and other heavy equipment on construction projects. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring the successful completion of projects, and you will work closely with our team to maintain equipment, coordinate with supervisors, and adhere to safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate lattice boom cranes and other heavy equipment on construction sites, adhering to safety guidelines and equipment load limits.
  • Perform daily inspections and maintenance on equipment, including fluid checks and lubrication.
  • Communicate effectively with site supervisors to ensure efficient task completion and project deadlines.
  • Assist in loading and unloading equipment and supplies, and secure work areas as needed.
  • Participate in daily maintenance of equipment, slings, cables, and straps, as well as other job site operations.
Requirements
  • NCCCO Mobile Crane and Lattice Boom Crane certification.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Five years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence and present information effectively in one-on-one and small group situations.
Work Environment

As a Crane Operator, you will work in a fast-paced construction environment, exposed to various weather conditions and physical demands. You must be able to lift and move heavy equipment, stand for long periods, and work in a team environment.
