- A high school diploma or equivalent is required; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
- Possession of a valid California driver's license (Class C) and current insurance coverage is mandatory.

Required Skills and Abilities:
- Commitment to uphold the policies and mission of KIPP Public Schools Northern California.
- Familiarity with the rules and regulations of the assigned sport is expected.
- Proficiency in establishing and maintaining positive relationships with faculty, staff, students, parents, and community members.
- Ability to manage a classroom environment professionally.
- Demonstrates flexibility, reliability, punctuality, and professionalism with a positive attitude.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with effective email and phone communication.
- Access to reliable transportation for travel throughout the Bay Area.

Key Responsibilities:
Coaching Duties:
- Plan, organize, and lead the assigned soccer team.
- Instruct and demonstrate essential skills and techniques for both individual and team growth.
- Clearly communicate and enforce team rules and athlete eligibility requirements.
- Organize, promote, and conduct tryouts for the soccer program, ensuring transparency in the selection process.
- Collaborate with the Athletic Director on off-season training programs, including scheduling for summer camps and practices.
- Create a safe and supportive environment conducive to the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
- Supervise athletes during practices, games, and transportation, ensuring their safety until they are picked up by guardians.
- Exemplify good sportsmanship and maintain respectful conduct towards opponents, fans, and officials.
Training Requirements:
- Complete necessary safety training for basic first aid and injury prevention through recognized programs.
- At the time of hiring, possess a certificate in Fundamentals of Coaching or proof of completion from a previous sports season.
Physical and Mental Demands:
Physical:
Ability to navigate various school campuses and hold meetings in different locations. The role involves prolonged periods of sitting and the ability to utilize technology. Occasional lifting and carrying of sports equipment may be required.
Mental:
Ability to manage stress from deadlines and standard work expectations, analyze problems, concentrate for extended periods, and perform routine calculations.
Environmental:
Work will primarily occur in gym or field settings, often with participants and spectators present. Frequent travel (50%-70%) to various locations is expected, adhering to health and safety guidelines.
Classification:
This is a seasonal, part-time, non-exempt hourly position aligned with the school calendar.
Compensation:
The position offers a compensation rate of $20 per hour for an expected 50 hours during the season.
