Job Title: Diesel Technician Mechanic

Job Summary:

This is a unique opportunity to join Penske Truck Leasing as a Diesel Technician Mechanic. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing top-notch service to our customers by diagnosing and repairing various maintenance issues on trucks in all weather conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond promptly to roadside assistance calls and repair units by identifying and determining parts requiring replacement and warrantable repairs.
  • Perform diagnostics and non-roadside call repairs as needed.
  • Restock rapid assist vehicles with tools, parts, tires, and other necessary items.
  • Perform maintenance or repairs to road assist vehicles as required.
  • Assist with designated in-shop repairs as directed by the supervisor.
  • Other projects and tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of practical experience with tractor trailer maintenance
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Vocational/technical or certification preferred
  • Specialized training in vehicle component repair and replacement preferred
  • Proficiency in shop tools required
  • Current CDL license with air brake certification required
  • Basic computer skills for data entry into maintenance systems
  • Ability to work in non-climate-controlled conditions
  • Regular, predictable attendance is essential

Physical Demands:

  • Moving frequently, standing, walking, climbing, bending, and sitting for extended periods
  • Using hands to grasp, reach, touch, handle, feel, and operate tools or controls
  • Working safely at heights using ladders and elevated platforms
  • Working in all weather conditions
  • Seeing and hearing to navigate the work environment
  • Lifting and moving up to 50lbs/23kg and occasionally up to 100lbs/45kg

Salary and Benefits:

$31.50 - $39.69/hourly

1st shift (M-F)

Shift differentials for 2nd and 3rd shifts and weekends
