Position Summary

The Senior Manufacturing Technician will engage in a collaborative environment within a production laboratory, focusing on the synthesis and evaluation of ion exchange materials utilized in chromatography products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct testing and validation of resin products using specialized equipment to fulfill client requirements.
  • Accurately document and report testing outcomes while maintaining comprehensive records.
  • Execute intricate production work orders in accordance with established protocols.
  • Analyze experimental data, draw conclusions, and compile reports based on results.
  • Work closely with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Comply with ISO 9001 standards and corporate quality policies to uphold exceptional quality benchmarks.
  • Follow environmental health and safety regulations and actively engage in safety enhancement initiatives.
  • Continuously identify improvement opportunities and suggest corrective actions.
  • Ensure a tidy and organized laboratory setting.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Familiarity with Good Laboratory and Manufacturing Practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Strong mathematical, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Capability to interpret written procedures (SOPs) and follow verbal directions.
  • Consistent punctuality and attendance.
  • Experience with common hand tools (e.g., wrenches, torque drivers, tweezers).
  • Willingness to learn and implement Lean manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
  • Ability to work autonomously with occasional guidance.
  • Ownership mentality with a focus on meeting deadlines and objectives.
  • Desire to acquire new knowledge and skills.
  • Understanding of production timelines and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Hands-on experience in a chemistry laboratory is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with chromatography software is a plus.

Educational Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in a manufacturing setting is required.
  • A bachelor’s degree in chemistry or biotechnology is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands and fingers for handling.
  • Frequently required to sit and reach with hands and arms.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Work Environment: The role may involve exposure to hazardous chemicals, fumes, and moving mechanical parts. The noise level is typically moderate.
