Job Summary:
The Telephone Triage Registered Nurse (TTRN) is a remote position responsible for providing essential care to intellectually and developmentally disabled individuals. This role involves triaging phone calls from unlicensed assistive personnel (UAP) safely, efficiently, and effectively, while upholding regulatory and policy requirements.
Key Responsibilities:- Triaging phone calls from UAP and providing accurate, detailed, and quality documentation.
- Utilizing resources, such as medical and medication records, to ensure safety and quality care.
- Communicating with delegating nurses, fellow on-call nurses, management, pharmacy personnel, and facilitating hospital and sub-acute rehab facility discharges as needed.
- Completing, reviewing, and updating online HRSTs as needed.
- Attending in-person and virtual meetings as directed by the supervisor.
- Responding to work-related communication in real-time during working hours.
- Current/valid Maryland RN license or current/valid multistate compact license.
- Experience in the developmental disabilities environment is highly desired.
- Must have a working "smart" cell phone capable of making calls, receiving calls, receiving emails, and sending emails.
- Must have reliable wireless internet.
- Must be able to fluently speak and understand spoken English.
- Must be able to fluently write and read English.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Quick learner, problem-solver, and strong decision-making skills.
- Detail-oriented, accurate with good organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to provide back-up support where and when needed.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to prioritize multiple duties.
- Creative problem-solving skills.
- Must be able to sit and look at a computer for multiple hours during a scheduled workday.
- Must be able to type on a computer (both laptop and desktop) keyboard and utilize a computer mouse for hours at a time during a scheduled workday.
License/Certifications:
- RN License
- CPR
- RN CM/DN certification
- Online HRST Rater Training, Online Advanced Rater Training, and Online HRST Reviewer Training
