The Indiana Southern District Court is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Law Clerk to support the court's operations. As a key member of the court's team, the Law Clerk will provide administrative assistance to the judges and court staff, ensuring the smooth operation of the court.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to judges and court staff, including preparing court documents, managing calendars, and coordinating travel arrangements.
- Assist with the preparation of court records, including drafting and editing documents, and ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of court procedures, rules, and regulations, and apply this knowledge to ensure compliance.
- Collaborate with court staff to resolve issues and address concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the court staff.
Requirements
- Law school graduation from an accredited law school.
- Strong personal character and adherence to a high professional standard.
- Excellent writing, proofreading, communication, and source and cite checking skills.
- Proficiency in Westlaw and/or Lexis.
- Ability to work collegially with others and maintain confidentiality.
Working Conditions
The Indiana Southern District Court is a smoke-free environment. The Law Clerk will be required to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines in a timely manner. The position requires strong organizational and time management skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
