Myrtle Beach Manor is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Bus Driver to join their team. As a key member of our transportation department, you will be responsible for safely transporting residents to their activities and appointments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily safety checks of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
  • Report any problems related to the vehicle, routing, or scheduling to the Executive Director immediately.
  • Provide safe assistance and transportation of participants, handling their personal belongings and family communications with care.
  • Maintain good rapport with family caregivers and participants, ensuring a positive experience for all.
  • Perform daily cleaning of the interior of the vehicle and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Assist with emergency evacuations of participants in case of inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
  • Coordinate driver emergencies in route with emergency assistance, remaining calm and composed in high-pressure situations.
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of state regulations and industry standards, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and guidelines.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Prior experience in transportation of the elderly and/or physically/mentally challenged persons preferred.
  • Must hold a currently valid driver's license as required by the State and a no-point driving record verified by the Department of Motor Vehicles.
  • Fluency in English is required, with knowledge of Spanish a plus depending on assigned area.
  • Pre-employment health evaluation by a licensed physician certifying good health and absence of infectious disease and freedom from communicable disease, including tuberculosis in the communicable form, according to acceptable screening methods of the Department of Health.
  • Knowledge and experience in Assisted Living industry and Dementia care a plus.
