Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist to join our team at CHI St. Joseph Health. As a CT Technologist, you will be responsible for operating diagnostic equipment and performing a variety of technical diagnostic imaging procedures related to CT.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate CT scanners and other diagnostic equipment to produce high-quality images of patients.
  • Prepare patients for CT exams, including positioning and explaining procedures.
  • Perform CT exams according to departmental procedure protocols and under the direction of the Medical Director.
  • Ensure that equipment is operational, safe, and functioning according to diagnostic standards.
  • Problem-solve equipment failure and imaging quality, and contact service representatives or CES as needed.
  • Maintain daily equipment and room maintenance, and ensure infection control standards are met.
  • Complete quality checks and maintain equipment logs.
  • Participate in patient testing, performing routine, non-routine, urgent, and emergent patient requests.
  • Review physician orders to verify the type of diagnostic test requested and ensure the indication for the procedure is consistent.
  • Communicate with Radiologists to obtain proper exam protocol/test design.
  • Provide specific diagnostic test information to patients, ensuring they are aware of the diagnostic test involvement.
  • Perform Point of Care testing for lab tests according to hospital guidelines.
  • Effectively start IVs following hospital guidelines.
  • Complete diagnostic examinations and all image post-processing.
  • Demonstrate competency in PACS process and perform daily QA process.
Requirements
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - ARRT (R) upon hire or transfer.
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - ARRT (CT) within 9 months of hire or transfer.
  • Certified by the state of Texas MRAD upon hire or transfer.
  • BLS-CPR certification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associates Degree preferred.
  • One (1) year of experience as a radiographer or one (1) year of radiography clinical rotation experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
