Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Med Tech to join our team at Catholic Health Initiatives. As a Nuclear Med Tech, you will be responsible for performing nuclear medicine procedures, providing patient care, and working with other healthcare providers to provide accurate and timely diagnostic and therapeutic data.
Responsibilities:- Perform nuclear medicine procedures as defined by department protocol, comply with regulatory requirements, and provide patient assessment, patient preparation, and work with other healthcare providers to provide accurate and timely diagnostic and therapeutic data.
- Interact with patients, guests, and other hospital personnel in a friendly, responsive manner to ensure quality patient care is provided.
- Perform imaging procedures as outlined in the nuclear medicine procedure manual, including planar, planar whole body, gated planar, SPECT, SPECT-CT, gated SPECT, and mobile studies.
- Participate in clinical education programs for nuclear medicine personnel, including training of nuclear medicine technologists, students, and house staff.
- Order, prepare, receive, dispense, and perform required regulatory and quality control procedures on radiopharmaceuticals.
- Administer intravenous and oral radiopharmaceuticals under the guidelines established by the Chief of Service.
- Perform quality control on all instrumentation in the nuclear medicine department, review data collected, and report problems immediately to the supervisor or radiation safety officer.
- Perform dosage administration, including intradermal, subcutaneous, peri-areolar, intramuscular, intravenous, and oral, and IV setup as outlined in hospital policy.
- Adhere to the rotational position methodology with a focus on punctuality.
- Set up and perform EKG during pharmaceutical stress, exercise testing, and emergency situations.
- Participate in on-call activities.
- Complete all computer and paperwork associated with the nuclear medicine procedure in an accurate and timely manner.
- Associate's Degree preferred.
- NMTCB or Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists – ARRT (N); must maintain current.
- Certified by State of Texas - MRT.
- CPR/BLS certification.
$36.24 - $52.55 /hour
