About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled and compassionate nurse to deliver exceptional patient care in our 36-bed medical trauma unit. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in critical care nursing and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will provide therapeutic care of patients being treated for cardiac, respiratory, renal, and other conditions, assessing acute changes in patients and monitoring vital signs. They will also work closely with a multidisciplinary team to administer prescribed medications and coordinate patient discharge planning needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care to patients, including telemetry monitoring and administering prescribed medications
  • Assess acute changes in patients and monitor vital signs, identifying any potential issues and intervening as necessary
  • Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to coordinate patient care and develop effective treatment plans
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient information and communicate effectively with colleagues and family members
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred)
  • Current Registered Nurse License in Virginia or Current Multistate Compact License
  • At least 1 year of experience in an acute care hospital setting, preferably in intensive care nursing
  • Current American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS or BCLS) Certification
