We are seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Equipment Transport Driver to join our team at Holt of California. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for safely transporting heavy equipment to various locations throughout the state.
Key Responsibilities- Operate a diesel-powered tractor-trailer to transport heavy equipment, ensuring safe loading and securing of equipment for transport.
- Prepare and provide documentation for delivery or pickup of equipment, including pre-trip and daily logs, in accordance with company guidelines.
- Conduct daily inspections of the vehicle and equipment to ensure safe operation and report any issues to the supervisor.
- Deliver equipment within established time frames and perform light maintenance tasks, such as fueling, greasing, and cleaning, as needed.
- Interact with customers to obtain signatures on rental agreements and document any damage to equipment.
- Recognize and report any abnormal equipment operating conditions or unsafe working conditions to the supervisor.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; one to two years of equipment experience and/or training preferred.
- Valid Class A driver's license and a clean DMV record required.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write service reports and effectively present information to customers and other employees.
