Knife River Northwest is a leading construction company seeking an experienced Fleet Mechanic Lead to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our fleet of construction equipment.
Responsibilities:- Supervise and coordinate the maintenance and repair of construction equipment, including hydraulic systems, brakes, electrical systems, and welding.
- Mentor and train junior mechanics in the shop and in the field.
- Perform service repairs in the field, as needed.
- Work on a wide variety of units, including small fleet vehicles, class 8 trucks/trailers, construction equipment, and large mining machines.
- Complete all necessary paperwork and documentation.
- Ensure all safety policies and procedures are followed to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- Previous experience as a fleet mechanic or in a similar role.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to diagnose complex mechanical issues.
- Welding and fabrication experience is desirable.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check, physical exam, and drug screen.
