Objective
The Inventory Operations Lead will manage, maintain, and develop programs and procedures for effective operations of receiving, stocking, counting, and loss prevention within the Inventory Department. The desired result of these activities is a clean and well-stocked store with accurate quantity on hand and declining losses. The Inventory Operations Lead will accomplish the above directly or oversee by delegating responsibility. The role leads by example to ensure high standards of communication, accountability, and customer service.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage receiving, stocking, and counting of inventory in accordance with company policies and procedures, making final decisions on important matters regarding these activities.
- Assist the Assistant Inventory Manager in the development of inventory policies and procedures to ensure smooth and consistent operations.
- Work closely with staff to manage, motivate, train, and develop team members.
- Communicate effectively with other departments to ensure a smooth flow of information and materials.
- Implement and monitor inventory control systems to minimize waste and maximize efficiency.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy of inventory records and identify areas for improvement.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends, forecast demand, and optimize stock levels.
- Develop and implement strategies to reduce shrinkage and prevent loss.
- Stay informed about industry best practices and emerging technologies in inventory management.
