We are seeking a highly skilled Forensic Scientist to join our team at the Texas Department of Public Safety. As a Forensic Scientist, you will play a critical role in analyzing and interpreting evidence related to seized drugs. Your expertise will help us to ensure that justice is served and that our communities are safe.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct laboratory tests and analyses on seized drug evidence
- Interpret analytical and instrumental results to identify and classify substances
- Prepare written reports and testify as an expert witness in court
- Collaborate with law enforcement officials and other stakeholders to ensure that evidence is handled and analyzed properly
- Stay up-to-date with the latest research and techniques in forensic science
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as chemistry, biology, or forensic science
- Minimum of one year of experience in a forensic science laboratory
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
