Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Forensic Scientist to join our team at the Texas Department of Public Safety. As a Forensic Scientist, you will be responsible for conducting laboratory tests, analyses, and identifications of physical evidence from crime scenes, with a focus on seized drugs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct laboratory tests and analyses on physical evidence from crime scenes
  • Identify and classify various types of physical evidence, including controlled substances
  • Prepare and present technical reports and testimony in court
  • Collaborate with law enforcement officials and other stakeholders to ensure the integrity of evidence and the success of investigations
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research and techniques in forensic science
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as chemistry, biology, or forensic science
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a forensic laboratory or related field
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel as needed
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
