About the Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Postdoctoral Research Associate to join our research team at the University of Georgia. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and conducting experiments to identify and characterize anti-CRISPR proteins from viruses, as well as identifying and characterizing new viruses and plasmids from hyperthermophilic archaea.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and conduct experiments to understand detailed molecular mechanisms of prokaryote-viral defense/counter-defense interactions.
  • Assist with the daily operations of the laboratory, including maintenance of phage and bacteria stocks.
  • Prepare manuscripts and present findings at conferences in coordination with the PI.
  • Assist with the supervision of student members of the laboratory.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support research efforts.
