Job Summary

Marcus Bar & Grille is seeking a skilled Pastry Cook to join our culinary team. As a Pastry Cook, you will be responsible for creating high-quality pastries and desserts that exceed our guests' expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and produce pastries and desserts for our menu
  • Assist with general food preparation as needed
  • Ensure food quality and consistency, maintaining a positive guest experience
  • Plan food production to coordinate with service hours, preserving excellence, quality, temperature, and appearance of food
  • Maintain superior cleanliness and sanitation in all kitchen areas, ensuring compliance with department of health standards
  • Use facility supplies and equipment efficiently, minimizing loss, waste, and fraud
  • Maintain safe food handling procedures at all times
  • Store food properly and safely, marking the date and item
  • Report necessary equipment repair and maintenance to management
  • Keep work area neat and clean at all times, cleaning and maintaining equipment used in food preparation
Requirements
  • Previous pastry cook experience at a full-service restaurant
  • Proven pastry culinary skills, with developed knowledge of pastry techniques and trends
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Ability to lift/carry items up to 40 lbs. and push/pull items up to 75 lbs.
  • Ability to walk/stand for extended periods, with frequent bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching overhead
  • Ability to utilize culinary tools (knives, commercial equipment, etc.) and taste/smell
