Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Neonatal Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Northern Arizona Healthcare. As a key member of our medical staff, you will provide exceptional care to newborns and their families in our Level IIE NICU. With a focus on quality, patient-centered care, and a commitment to excellence, we are dedicated to building a strong team that shares our vision for delivering outstanding healthcare services.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with neonatologists and other newborn providers to ensure comprehensive care
  • Communicate effectively with referral facilities and perinatal social work teams
  • Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic data, and communicate results to appropriate providers
  • Make appropriate referrals and utilize CPOE to communicate orders to caregivers
  • Provide immediate support and resuscitation for newborns in the delivery setting
  • Complete thorough physical assessments and develop plans of care for newborns
  • Document interventions and patient responses to interventions
  • Develop management plans for all infants in the SCN/Stabilization Nursery
  • Stabilize and prepare neonates for transport to higher levels of care as needed
  • Apply and interpret pain assessment tools as appropriate
  • Serve as a patient and staff advocate, consistently supporting Patient-Family Centered Care
  • Manage medications, IVs, and blood products, including prescribing and dispensing
  • Coordinate discharge planning and provide education and emotional support to families
Qualifications
  • Masters in Nursing required
  • Completion of accredited NNP Program required
  • Current Arizona RN license required
  • AZ NNP licensure/certification required
  • BLS (American Heart Association) required
  • Arizona prescribing and dispensing privileges required
  • DEA registration/licensure required
  • NNP national certification (NCC) required
  • NAH medical staff privilege as advanced practice professional (APP) required
  • NRP required
  • NRP Instructor preferred
  • S.T.A.B.L.E. Instructor preferred
