Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Neonatal Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Northern Arizona Healthcare. As a key member of our medical staff, you will provide exceptional care to newborns and their families in our Level IIE NICU. With a focus on quality, patient-centered care, and a commitment to excellence, we are dedicated to building a strong team that shares our vision for delivering outstanding healthcare services.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with neonatologists and other newborn providers to ensure comprehensive care
  • Communicate effectively with referral facilities and perinatal social work teams
  • Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic data, and communicate results to appropriate providers
  • Make appropriate referrals and utilize CPOE to communicate orders to caregivers
  • Provide immediate support and resuscitation for newborns in the delivery setting
  • Complete thorough physical assessments, develop plans of care, and prioritize patient needs
  • Develop management plans for all infants in the SCN/Stabilization Nursery
  • Stabilize and prepare neonates for transport to higher levels of care as needed
  • Apply and interpret pain assessment tools, and serve as a patient and staff advocate
  • Manage medications, IVs, and blood products, including prescribing and dispensing
  • Coordinate discharge planning and provide education and emotional support to families
Qualifications
  • Masters in Nursing and completion of an accredited NNP program
  • Current Arizona RN license, AZ NNP licensure/certification, and BLS certification
  • Arizona prescribing and dispensing privileges, DEA registration/licensure, and NNP national certification
  • NAH medical staff privilege as an advanced practice professional (APP), NRP certification, and NRP Instructor certification (preferred)
  • Recent clinical experience in a Level IIE or higher NICU for a minimum of 5 years, and leadership experience (preferred)
