About the Role:
Seneca Family of Agencies is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Classroom Therapist to join our team at James Baldwin Academy. As a key member of our school-based mental health team, you will work collaboratively with educators and other professionals to provide comprehensive therapeutic services to students in grades 6-12.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct individual and group therapy sessions with students and families using evidence-based modalities
- Provide comprehensive case management and social services to support academic and personal development
- Create and monitor individualized behavioral goals, adjusting them as needed for positive changes
- Oversee classroom behavioral interventions, collaborating with educators for an optimal learning environment
- Monitor and communicate regarding psychotropic medications for student well-being
- Develop and maintain meaningful therapy contacts with students and families
- Offer expert consultation to the education team, integrating therapeutic principles for student success
- Provide crisis intervention for students, using de-escalation techniques to resolve conflicts
Requirements:
- Master's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or marriage and family therapy
- Registered or eligible to register with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS)
- Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and insurability through Seneca Family of Agencies' insurance policy
- TB test clearance, fingerprinting clearance, and any other state/federal licensing or certification requirements
- Proof of up-to-date COVID-19 vaccination
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with youth in a mental health or education setting
- Ability to work collaboratively as a team member and contribute to the growth and development of an engaged program culture
Benefits:
- Starting salary: $71,080 - $85,080 per year, commensurate with experience
- $4,000 salary increase upon licensure
- Salary increase upon passing a bilingual language proficiency exam may be available
- Salary increases each year
- $2,000 sign-on bonus for new Seneca employees
- Relocation assistance may be available
- Five weeks of paid time off and 11 paid holidays, plus 14 paid school break days
