Position Overview:
North Mississippi Health Services is looking for a dedicated Rehabilitation Specialist to join our team in Tupelo, Mississippi.

Job Responsibilities:

Supervisory Duties:
Oversee and delegate tasks to Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) and support staff.

Clinical Responsibilities:
  • Maintain productivity levels in accordance with departmental goals.
  • Conduct evaluations and develop treatment plans for patients referred to Rehabilitation Therapy.
  • Stay proficient in essential skills, including evaluation techniques, therapeutic exercises, activities of daily living (ADL) training, cognitive rehabilitation, wheelchair transfers, splinting, and appropriate modalities.
  • Participate in and provide ongoing education and training sessions.
  • Act as a mentor for new staff members and volunteers.
  • Serve as a clinical instructor after gaining one year of clinical experience.
  • Ensure timely and compliant documentation in accordance with all regulations.
  • Adapt to meet patient care needs, which may involve covering various rehabilitation areas within the scope of your clinical competencies.

Budget Management:
Adhere to the monthly budget for ordering equipment and supplies, ensuring timely and accurate patient billing for treatments and equipment.

Technical Skills:
Proficient in using computer systems for documentation and billing purposes.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent.
  • Current state licensure as required by the facility.
  • Certification in CPR.
  • Demonstrated competency in assessment and treatment across various age groups, including neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
