Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Commercial Real Estate Appraiser to join our team at Newmark Ltd. As a Senior Appraiser, you will be responsible for appraising real estate properties independently for various purposes, including dispute resolution, mortgage underwriting, acquisition/disposition, portfolio analysis, and estate purposes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare comprehensive appraisal reports independently on complex properties, collaborating with senior staff members and reviewing reports.
  • Conduct thorough appraisals, examining and evaluating commercial properties to establish market value.
  • Make independent decisions and provide expert judgment in the development of appraisal reports for complex properties.
  • Inspect properties to gather data and information.
  • Complete formal review responses with guidance from senior staff members, as needed.
  • Engage directly with clients to discuss appraisal results and provide recommendations.
  • Complete formal rebuttal letters to address any concerns or issues.
  • Stay up-to-date with current government regulations, zoning laws, and appraisal standards.
  • Develop and maintain expertise in necessary software programs used in the business.
  • Stay informed about relevant data sources and market trends.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in real estate or a related field, such as economics or finance. A Master's Degree or MBA in real estate is preferred.
  • State-approved Certified General Appraiser License.
  • Minimum 3-6 years of professional experience as a Commercial Real Estate Appraiser.
  • Proven experience and skills in writing appraisal and appraisal reviews of complex commercial properties.
  • Strong understanding of real property valuation concepts, commercial real estate terminology, and property tax jurisdictional processes and procedures.
  • Knowledge of Argus software.
  • Excellent analytical and writing skills.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with clients and market participants.
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
Compensation

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $49,000 to $50,000 annually. The actual base salary will be determined on an individualized basis, taking into account relevant skills, experience, education, and licenses or certifications held. In addition to base salary and a competitive benefits package, this position may be eligible for additional types of compensation, including discretionary bonuses and other short- and long-term incentives.
