Patient Access Representative

We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Access Specialist to join our team at Ensemble Health Partners. As a Patient Access Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of patients through our healthcare system.
Key Responsibilities- Perform admitting duties for all patients admitted for services at the hospital, ensuring accurate and timely completion of medical necessity / compliance checks.
- Provide excellent customer service, utilizing an overlay tool to ensure patient satisfaction and measured by Press Ganey.
- Operate the telephone switchboard to relay incoming, outgoing, and inter-office calls as applicable, adhering to policies and providing a high level of compassion.
- Conduct audits of accounts and assure that all forms are completed accurately and timely to meet audit standards, providing statistical data to Patient Access leadership.
- Pre-register patient accounts prior to patient visits, collecting demographic, insurance, and other patient information, including point of service collections and past due balances.
- Explain general consent for treatment forms to the patient/guarantor/legal guardian, obtain necessary signatures and witness's name, and distribute patient education documents.
- Review eligibility responses in insurance verification system and select the applicable insurance plan code, entering benefit data into the system to support POS (Point of Service Collections) and billing processes.
- Accurately screen medical necessity using the Advanced Beneficiary Notice (ABN) software to inform Medicare patients of possible non-payment of test by Medicare and distribute the ABN as appropriate.
- 1+ years of customer service experience.
- High School Diploma/GED Required.
- CRCR Required within 6 months of hire (Company Paid).
