Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Biostatistician to join our team at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. The successful candidate will collaborate with epidemiologists, statisticians, and investigators to manage and analyze complex multicenter longitudinal data.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement differential equation solvers and perform Bayesian statistical analyses to interpret simulation results.
  • Apply advanced statistical techniques to analyze data and derive meaningful insights.
  • Curate and manage epidemiological data from sources such as the CDC and local public health agencies.
  • Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and relevance for ongoing research and analysis.
  • Write and optimize custom code in R and/or other programming languages to facilitate complex simulations.
  • Maintain and update model code to ensure it remains relevant and effective in addressing key public health questions.
  • Conduct comprehensive literature reviews on syphilis and HIV epidemiology to inform model development and research strategies.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in Biostatistics, Epidemiology, or related quantitative field.
  • One year related experience.
  • Demonstrated ability on significant graduate project or additional doctoral education may substitute for experience to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in public health or infectious disease epidemiology.
  • Experience in HIV and sexually transmitted diseases epidemiology.
  • Familiarity with additional programming languages or statistical software.
  • Familiarity with concepts in modeling and simulation analysis.
  • Experience in using differential equation solvers and Bayesian statistical methods.
Total Rewards

The referenced base salary range represents the low and high end of Johns Hopkins University's salary range for this position. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Exact salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, work experience, market conditions, education/training and other qualifications. If permitted, equivalencies will follow these guidelines: JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience. Additional related experience may substitute for required education on the same basis.
