Ophthalmic Technician

As an Ophthalmic Technician with Kaiser Permanente, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our team of ophthalmologists. This is a call-in/on-call position, requiring flexibility and a commitment to delivering high-quality care in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Assist ophthalmologists with patient care, including screening, testing, and examination procedures.
- Perform a range of ophthalmic tests, including visual fields, OCT, and HRT.
- Prepare patients for minor surgery and laser procedures, and assist with intravitreal injections.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including EMR documentation.
- Provide administrative support, including answering phones, responding to patient inquiries, and preparing medical records.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
- 2+ years of experience as an Ophthalmic Technician or equivalent.
- Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification within 2 months of hire.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 1 month of hire.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
- 3-5 years of experience as an Ophthalmic Technician or equivalent.
- Broad-based ophthalmic technician experience.
- Familiarity with EpicCare or electronic medical records systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites.
