Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fire Restoration Technician to join our team at ServiceMaster Restore. As a Fire Restoration Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful completion of restoration jobs, from initial assessment to final completion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Retrieve and review work orders, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are loaded and ready for each job.
  • Explain complex restoration processes to customers, providing clear and concise information on next steps and expected outcomes.
  • Complete assigned jobs according to company procedures, maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.
  • Perform fire and smoke damage repair and restoration tasks, including water extraction, pack-out of contents, and demolition as directed by supervisor.
  • Ensure all equipment, supplies, and vehicles are properly handled and maintained, reporting any malfunctions or damage to supervisor.
  • Inspect completed jobs, obtaining customer signatures for approval and requesting payments as necessary.
  • Make daily adjustments to drying plans based on meter readings, ensuring optimal results.
  • Resolve customer issues, communicate daily job activities with supervisor and key company staff.
  • Prepare documentation and photographs according to company policies and procedures to ensure reimbursement from insurance companies.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Experience in the restoration or construction industry preferred, but not required.
  • Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of disaster restoration industry.
  • Ability to prioritize activities and meet deadlines.
  • Experience with data entry using a tablet or mobile phone.
  • Report to work on time, in a clean and complete uniform.
  • Read and follow product label usage instructions.
  • Certifications in Fire & Smoke Restoration Technician (FSRT) and Odor Control Technician (OCT) preferred, but not required.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions

The physical demands of this role require the ability to:

  • Move up to 70 pounds frequently, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or repositioning objects.
  • Stand and walk for extended periods, with frequent lifting, squatting, crawling, and crouching.
  • Express and exchange ideas with others, receiving and acting on detailed information.
  • Wear respirators, which must seal to the face, in certain situations.
  • Work in various environments, including inside and outside, with or without air conditioning and heating.
