Café Assistant

Job Summary:

Ogeechee Technical College is seeking a part-time Café Assistant to assist with all duties associated with opening the Café. The successful candidate will be responsible for food preparation, operating the point of sale system, and providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with food preparation, including meal planning and inventory management.
• Operate the point of sale system and manage cash register transactions.
• Provide exceptional customer service, including serving food and beverages, and responding to customer inquiries.
• Assist with cleaning and sanitizing the Café, including dishes, utensils, and equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

• Minimum one year of food service experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods.

Preferred Qualifications:

• ServSafe Certification.
• Work experience in retail sales, marketing, and merchandising with an emphasis on customer service.
• Knowledge of basic food safety practices for preparing and serving food.
• Knowledge of personal hygiene and proper cleaning methods.
• Knowledge of cash register operation.
