Diagnostic Technologist Opportunity

UPMC Western Maryland is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Technologist to contribute to their team of life-changing professionals. This role involves performing imaging procedures at an advanced level, requiring independent judgment and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform or assist Clinical Specialist in conducting QA, regulatory testing, and technical initiatives.
  • Execute all job responsibilities of Diagnostic Tech I.
  • Demonstrate expertise in specialty equipment and analyze data promptly.
  • Monitor quality control activities and provide patient care according to the latest protocols and procedures.
  • Function independently, covering off-shifts, on-call responsibilities, and satellite facilities, while maintaining open communication with the lead and management team.
  • Participate in standardization activities with system-level workgroups.
  • Collaborate with Radiologists on protocol development.
  • Assist in training staff and student technologists.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an ARRT-approved school of Radiologic Technology or verification from an ARRT-approved school of completion of program and scheduled graduation date.
  • Technologists hired before graduation will have indirect supervision by an ARRT-certified diagnostic technologist until the degree is verified.
  • ARRT Certificate and Registry eligibility as a Radiologic Technologist.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
