About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Radiology Technologist PRN to join our team at St. David's Surgical Hospital, a destination surgical facility located in north Austin, Texas.
Job Summary
The successful candidate will be responsible for performing radiographic procedures and related techniques, producing images for interpretation by licensed practitioners. They will provide appropriate patient care and recognize patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform all diagnostic radiographic procedures including ER, surgical, fluoroscopic, and portable radiographs.
- Select and operate radiography equipment, imaging accessories, and associated systems to successfully perform procedures.
- Select appropriate protocols to obtain desired results.
- Demonstrate knowledge of human anatomy and physiology.
- Document, on the images or in writing, information seen during exams.
- Relay to physicians any relevant patient information.
- Follow all hospital guidelines regarding radiation protection and apply principles of radiation safety to minimize risk to patients, self, and others.
- Provide optimum patient care during exams.
- Operate computer systems that relate to the individual's job assignment and department operations.
- Participate in call rotation as needed.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Associate Degree from an educational program in radiology accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) or graduate of an American Medical Association approved program in Radiologic Technology or a military training program of equivalent standards.
- Licensed as a Medical Radiologic Technologist with the Texas Medical Board (TMB).
- Registered Technologist with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- BASIC CARDIAC LIFE SUPPORT MUST BE OBTAINED WITHIN 30 DAYS OF EMPLOYMENT START DATE.
