Ash Grove Cement Company is seeking a highly skilled Process Engineer I to manage the entire cement manufacturing process. This is a critical role that requires a strong analytical mind and a passion for process improvement.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the cement manufacturing process to ensure optimal operating conditions for fuel efficiency, electrical efficiency, and production rate.
- Analyze process data to identify areas for improvement and implement changes to increase efficiency and productivity.
- Collaborate with shift process teams to ensure mills and pyro lines are consistently operated at peak efficiency.
- Develop and implement process improvements to reduce costs and improve product quality.
- Provide technical support to the Production Department to achieve objectives of maximizing plant production of quality-controlled cement efficiently and cost-effectively.
- Optimize process by testing, data gathering, sampling, and in-house expertise to provide progressive solutions and enable continual improvement in the production process.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a mechanical, chemical engineering, or closely related position.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to perform, organize, and prioritize work independently.
- Proficient in English written, verbal communication, and listening skills.
- Knowledge of pyro processing, thermodynamics, heat transfer, air flow, and related principles.
- Knowledge of PLC systems and instrumentation techniques and guidelines.
- Ability to make sound independent judgments regularly.
