Position Overview:

We are in search of a proactive and results-oriented Global Corporate Controller to become a vital part of our team. This position will be based in Hodgkins, Illinois.

The Corporate Controller will be responsible for overseeing the company's financial records, reports, and associated processes. This role will enhance accounting practices and controls to achieve excellence while guiding and developing a talented team of accounting professionals. Reporting directly to the CFO, this high-visibility position will engage extensively with Senior Management and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will possess a strong leadership presence and the ability to communicate complex financial concepts clearly across diverse cultures and teams, driving consistent and urgent results.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures, ensuring compliance across all operational entities while maintaining the integrity of local statutory records and consolidated group results.
  • Prepare and distribute monthly financial statements to stakeholders.
  • Continuously assess the control environment to ensure the integrity of financial statements, systems, and accounts, fostering a culture of ongoing improvement.
  • Lead the team in monthly closing and consolidation processes, including the preparation of income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Manage the financial statement audit process, including the preparation of the annual GAAP audit report.
  • Oversee all tax filings and corporate tax returns.
  • Provide operational insights to support profitable business growth, ensuring sound return on investments across systems, personnel, and processes. Collaborate with the FP&A team to align management reporting, forecasting, and planning with business objectives.
  • Assist with special projects and other emerging issues as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required; CPA certification is preferred.
  • A Master's Degree is highly regarded.
  • 5-7 years of experience in a similar role within a manufacturing context.
  • Experience in a global business environment is essential.
  • Proficient in Excel, Access, MS Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience managing external audit processes and collaborating with external partners and internal teams for timely and successful outcomes.
  • Knowledge of acquisition accounting and post-close integration activities.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to influence stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Able to constructively challenge existing practices.
  • Experience in developing systems and processes that balance effective controllership with sound business practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Strong analytical, teamwork, customer service, and leadership capabilities.
  • Proven ability to communicate key financial information transparently and effectively to enhance business performance.

The physical demands of this position include, but are not limited to, the ability to sit, listen, speak, type, and move throughout the workplace. The employee must be capable of using a keyboard for computer tasks.
