Lead Veterinarian

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Lead Veterinarian to join our Community Medicine team at the ASPCA. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional veterinary care to animals in underserved communities, while also leading and mentoring our team of veterinarians and support staff.
Key Responsibilities- Provide high-quality, compassionate veterinary care to animals in our community clinics, including spay/neuter surgeries, medical exams, and treatment of medical conditions.
- Lead and mentor our team of veterinarians and support staff, providing guidance and support to ensure excellent patient care and a positive work environment.
- Develop and implement medical protocols and procedures to ensure the highest level of care for our patients.
- Collaborate with our Community Medicine team to develop and implement programs to improve access to veterinary care for underserved communities.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay up-to-date on the latest veterinary medical knowledge and techniques.
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited veterinary program.
- Current New York State Department of Education Veterinary License.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in small animal medicine and surgery, with a focus on high-volume spay/neuter.
- Experience in leadership and mentoring, with a proven track record of success.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
