In this pivotal position, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the organization by utilizing cutting-edge technologies to oversee and refine the material planning and warehousing functions, thereby ensuring efficient production workflows and inventory management.

Your responsibilities will include collaborating with various teams, interpreting data to predict material requirements, and keeping precise inventory records to align with manufacturing and corporate objectives.

Additionally, you will lead a team of warehouse personnel, guarantee the integrity of inventory records, uphold a safe and orderly workspace, and cultivate your team into a high-achieving group while promoting our core values and culture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Enhance and optimize our raw materials and railcar management systems, collaborating with internal developers or third-party partners to elevate our operational capabilities.
  • Establish, oversee, and refine processes to ensure timely delivery of materials essential for producing quality products and maintaining a reliable operational framework.
  • Identify and implement process enhancements within material planning and warehouse operations, adopting best practices and innovative technologies to boost safety, compliance, efficiency, and accuracy.
  • Formulate and sustain material requirements plans aligned with production timelines, sales forecasts, and inventory strategies while actively monitoring stock levels, reconciling variances, and devising methods to reduce surplus and outdated inventory.
  • Collaborate with the site reliability team to ensure the correct spare parts are available in the warehouse using SAP and Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) systems.
  • Automate and expedite orders for raw materials and components to guarantee timely arrivals and avert production interruptions.
  • Supervise the raw material and spare parts warehouse, guiding a team of 2-4 employees in applying our operational principles daily.
  • Monitor performance metrics related to overdue Purchase Orders (POs), critical POs, and past due invoices, working with other departments to eliminate obstacles and enhance processes.
  • Manage costs associated with warehouse contractors, off-site storage, and vendor-managed inventory.
  • Coordinate with accounting to ensure accurate allocation of parts to the appropriate cost centers/projects for precise cost tracking.
  • Build and nurture relationships with preferred suppliers, fostering mutually beneficial partnerships that deliver value to the organization.
Qualifications
  • Proven supervisory experience.
  • Background in spare parts and/or raw material warehouse management.
  • Familiarity with MRP (Materials Requirement Planning) systems.
  • This position does not qualify for Visa sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in Inventory Control.
  • Involvement in Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Proficiency in SAP, EAM, or similar ERP systems.
  • Advanced skills in Excel.
  • Experience in software development or implementation.
