Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Fire Alarm Inspector IV to join our team at Johnson Controls. As a key member of our safety and security team, you will be responsible for conducting routine inspections, testing, and maintenance on electrical, sprinkler, and suppression life safety product lines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct routine inspections and testing of electrical, sprinkler, and suppression life safety systems
  • Perform preventative maintenance on life safety product lines
  • Work with low voltage wiring and associated devices
  • Complete service acknowledgements and input inspection documents via laptop computer
  • Follow and maintain a structured inspection schedule
Requirements
  • Five to ten years of documented experience in low voltage electrical systems and fire and/or life safety systems
  • Demonstrated aptitude for troubleshooting systems and performing small repairs
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Capable of performing physical labor, including carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs
  • Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions, such as climbing ladders and working in crawl spaces
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, and travel out of town
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Successful completion of the Inspector Entrance Course (Electrical or Sprinkler)
  • Achieve NICET Level II certification after 2 years on the job
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with hand tools and multi-meter usage
  • Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, and specifications
  • NICET certification

This is a competitive hourly range position, with a hiring range of $25.24 - $34.73 per hour. The actual hourly rate will be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and market data. The position includes a comprehensive benefits package.
