Compensation: $29 - $31.95/hr
Contract Length: 1 year
Work Hours: Standard, 40 hours per week
Role Summary: Teema Staffing is looking for a compassionate Patient Care Assistant to join our dedicated team. This position involves supporting students with unique needs, including those who are DeafBlind and may have additional disabilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with daily living activities, ensuring safety, and facilitating educational and health-related support.
Primary Duties:
- Supervise students in the proper use and maintenance of equipment to avoid injuries.
- Document and maintain student records in accordance with relevant policies and regulations.
- Aid in the physical care of students, which may include assistance with toileting, feeding, and personal hygiene.
- Provide transportation for students to various activities and appointments as required.
- Engage in ongoing professional development through training and workshops.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) is highly desirable.
- Experience working with children is preferred.
- ASL skills for effective communication with Deaf or hard of hearing students and staff are advantageous.
- Knowledge of Braille for assisting visually impaired students is a plus.
Essential Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Patient Care Assistant.
- Valid CPR and First Aid certification.
